Tooth decay is one of the most widespread, chronic diseases in America. While many of us brush and floss our teeth daily, as well as receive routine dental cleanings as recommended by our dentist, is that really enough? Our teeth are susceptible to decay when the enamel wears thin, which is why MI Paste can help fortify your dental enamel.

Greeneville dentists at Tusculum Dental Care can provide you with an additional defense from the risk of cavities by the application of MI Paste. Take extra precaution by keeping your teeth healthy by fortifying your dental enamel with MI Paste.

What is MI Paste, and how does it work?

MI Paste contains Recaldent, a milk-derived protein that helps replenish calcium and phosphate in your teeth. It is a non-toxic paste that can be applied directly on your teeth at night after you brush. Since the paste is water-based, sugar-free, and available in different flavors, it is safe for children and adults, even pregnant and nursing mothers. MI Paste helps fortify your dental enamel by strengthening it, which may reduce your chance of developing tooth decay or tooth sensitivity.

How to apply MI Paste

Begin by brushing your teeth to remove any food particles or plaque buildup. It is best to apply MI Paste at night.

Simply use your finger or a cotton-tipped applicator to apply the paste directly over the surfaces of each tooth. Be sure not to use your toothbrush to apply the paste.

Let the paste sit for three minutes, and then spit out the excess, do not rinse. Avoid eating or drinking anything for at least 30 minutes, allowing the MI Paste to work and receive the maximum benefits.

What are the treatment applications of MI Paste?

MI Paste provides various benefits that can help patients of all ages. MI Paste can be used for the following:

  • Relieve tooth sensitivity
  • Remineralize tooth imperfections
  • Repair minor dental enamel erosion
  • Prevent tooth decay
  • Prevent white spots from forming on teeth, a precursor to cavities

Is MI Paste right for me?

MI Paste is ideal for those who have worn dental enamel, receding gum tissue, or even just as a preventive measure to keep your teeth healthy. While MI Paste is safe for patients of all ages, we will recommend this treatment if it is right for you upon assessing your oral health and health history. In general, MI Paste is safe for children two years of age and older, and for pregnant or breastfeeding mothers. However, MI Paste should not be used on children younger than two years of age, or by those who are allergic to milk protein or benzoate preservatives.
